Veterinary Assistant / Technician

We are seeking a compassionate and organized professional to join our team at a busy veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will be the welcoming face to our patients and clients, providing exceptional customer service. This role combines a love for animals with excellent communication and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians during exams and surgical procedures.
• Restrain animals safely and humanely during procedures
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.

• Monitor patients pre- and post-surgery.
• Perform basic lab tests, such as fecal and blood tests.
• Take and develop X-rays.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Educate clients on preventive care, nutrition, and treatment plans.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and exam rooms.
• Support inventory management and order supplies when necessary.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Animal Care Experience: Prior experience as a Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Assistant, or similar role is preferred but not required.
• Veterinary Knowledge: Familiarity with veterinary clinic operations, animal anatomy, and husbandry practices is a plus.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills to connect effectively with clients and team members.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer systems for scheduling, record-keeping, and data entry.
• Multitasking Ability: Comfortable handling multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environment.
• Additional Skills: Experience in laboratory settings or kennel environments is a plus.
