Why Choose Countryside Veterinary Service for Small Animals

Thank you for choosing Countryside Veterinary Service, where your pet’s health and well-being are our top priorities. Contact us today to schedule an appointment or learn more about our services.

Small Animal Appointments

For your convenience, it’s best to schedule small animal appointments in advance. This ensures a veterinarian is available when you need one. Walk-ins may include an additional fee. Our staff members will gladly assist you in booking appointments and aim to accommodate your requests. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide approximately 24 hours’ notice.

Convenient Drop-Offs for Small Animals

To better serve busy pet owners, we offer convenient drop-off appointments. You can schedule an appointment to drop off your pet at the clinic as early as 8:00 am and pick them up before our 5:00 pm closing time. During their stay, we perform all necessary treatments. Drop-off pets must be up-to-date on all vaccines unless they are being admitted for vaccinations. Please note that we maintain a flea-free clinic, and if a pet arrives with fleas, treatment will be at the owner’s expense.

Small Animal Wellness & Vaccinations

Yearly check-ups and vaccinations are crucial for your small pets’ health. For dogs, we recommend annual vaccinations against rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and leptospirosis. If your dog interacts with other dogs, consider the Bordetella vaccine. Yearly heartworm and internal parasite tests are essential, along with monthly prevention measures. For cats, we recommend vaccinations for rabies, feline distemper, and feline leukemia, with additional intestinal parasite screenings for outdoor cats.

Laser Therapy for Small Animals

Experience the drug-free, surgery-free solution with our Class IV Laser therapy. It delivers specific wavelengths of laser light, inducing therapeutic effects like increased circulation, reduced swelling, pain reduction, and enhanced tissue repair. Patients do not require sedation or restraint, and each treatment typically lasts 1-4 minutes. Treatment frequency varies with your pet’s condition, and we recommend a multi-visit treatment plan tailored to their specific needs. Some uses for our laser include chronic back pain and arthritis, lacerations or large wounds, incisions, and much more!

Surgery for Small Animals

Countryside Veterinary Service offers a wide range of surgical procedures for small animals. We carefully screen all patients for safety, and our anesthetics are tailored to your pet. We provide intensive care after surgery, including full blood testing. Our surgical services include spays, neuters, feline de-claws, lumpectomy, exploratory surgery, caesarian, and bone fracture repairs. Our doctors specialize in anterior cruciate ligament repairs, with successful procedures performed. Small animal surgeries and dental procedures are conducted Monday to Friday. Patients should arrive between 8:00-8:30 am on the day of surgery and can be picked up between 4:00-5:00 pm the same day. An overnight stay is standard for feline de-claws and more invasive surgeries. Please remember to withhold food and water after midnight the night before surgery to prevent vomiting while under sedation.

Ultrasound & Radiology for Small Animals

Our doctors excel in performing ultrasounds, a non-invasive technology that uses sound waves to examine internal organs painlessly. Ultrasounds are also used for pregnancy detection after 35 days of gestation. We offer ultrasound services for both large and small animals, including portable ultrasound for farm calls. Radiology is another valuable diagnostic tool we use to identify musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary system problems and diseases.
